Welsh Whisky Map

La leggenda narra che il whisky sia stato prodotto per la prima volta in Galles nel Medioevo. Tuttavia, la prima distilleria autorizzata sarebbe stata fondata nel 1705 a Dale. La tanto attesa rinascita è avvenuta solo nel 2000, quando Penderyn ha iniziato a produrre il “Welsh Single Malt Whisky” nella selvaggia regione dei Brecon Beacons.

Riprendiamo di seguito la seconda edizione della mappa rilasciata dalla Welsh Whisky Society. Con 11 distillerie operative e altre in arrivo, il whisky gallese si sta affermando saldamente nel mercato mondiale.

Il Single Malt Welsh Whisky è un distillato che, ricordiamo, dal 24 luglio 2023 è registrato come Indicazione Geografica del Regno Unito (UKGI).
